At L'Excuse, our journey began not out of mere curiosity, but from a necessity—the need to transcend traditional cocktail boundaries and redefine what’s possible in a glass. In the heartland of the United States cocktail culture is strong and booming, but some of the world’s best liqueurs don’t often make it to our doorstep. This limitation sparked our creative fire, setting us on a path to craft something we are truly proud of. Beginning our process with months of research followed by hours and hours of trial and blending, distilling, and starting over, we utilized 21 of the world's most notable botanicals to craft the first batch of L’Excuse.
Creating a Legacy
Our ambition was bold yet simple: to create a versatile, complex herbal liqueur that could both stand alone and transform cocktails into unforgettable experiences. With a deep appreciation for the rich tapestry of classic spirits, we were inspired to develop a liqueur that could capture the essence of traditional botanical spirits while weaving in our distinct touch. Thus, L'Excuse was born—named after the 21st card of the French Tarot Deck, “L’Excuse” or ‘The Fool” which embodies the freedom and creativity to forge one’s path.

Utilizing 21 carefully selected botanicals, our herbal liqueurs—available in both Green and Yellow expressions—offer a nod to classic flavors while delivering a modern twist that inspires mixologists and cocktail enthusiasts alike. L'Excuse Green enchants with its vibrant, herbaceous notes, while L'Excuse Yellow offers a sweeter, more mellow complexity.
